IBC 2014: Axinom Announces the 2nd Generation of Axinom OTT for the Cloud featuring 360° Video Streaming

Axinom, one of the leading OTT technology providers in Europe and North America, will be showcasing the second generation of its Axinom OTT portfolio for the cloud featuring 360° video streaming at the IBC2014 in Amsterdam at the booth H14.G04. Axinom OTT is providing protected, multiscreen, live and on-demand video streaming services for content owners, aggregators, and distributors. Second generation of Axinom OTT includes content management (CMS), digital rights management (DRM) and white label applications (Apps) for the Web, iOS, Android and Windows mobile devices, Smart TV, and game consoles. The latest addition to the portfolio 360 degree stereoscopic live and on-demand video streaming enables immersive consumer experiences on virtual reality devices. Designed for multi-platform video delivery the Axinom OTT offers the flexibility, scalability and reliability of a cloud-based solution.

Fast time-to-market and increased flexibility already convinced a number of media customers. The world-renowned Nobel Laureate Meetings in Lindau, Germany, provided this summer live and on-demand video to viewers in more than 80 countries using the video platform entirely based on Axinom OTT. HD PLUS, a part of the world leading satellite provider SES trusted in Axinom DRM to extend reach and provide HD video to millions of European IDTV viewers using MPEG DASH technology.

“With Axinom’s OTT portfolio for the cloud we provide our customer base with an out-of-the-box solution for the entire workflow, from video acquisition right down to delivery to various devices while supporting industry standards like MPEG DASH and 4K/UHD video”, said Damir Tomicic, Axinom''s CEO. "The simplicity and efficiency of our OTT portfolio enables media customers to add live and on-demand video streaming to their services, increasing the audience for their content, and their opportunities for monetizing their connected viewers."
Axinom’s award-winning content management system Axinom CMS enables media companies to manage, convert, distribute and monetize digital assets and Meta data in the cloud while reducing maintenance costs for live and on-demand scenarios. Close collaboration with encoding providers like Envivio, Harmonic, and iStreamPlanet enables customers to tailor the best possible media workflow to their needs. As a technology base for more than 500 media projects during the past 10 years, Axinom CMS supports today more than 100 partner companies worldwide.

Axinom DRM is an end-to-end content protection solution in the cloud based on the market leading PlayReady DRM technology from Microsoft. Content protected with Axinom DRM can be consumed on the vast majority of consumer devices running Windows, iOS and Android OS, as well as Smart TVs, set top boxes, and game consoles.

A set of white label applications (Axinom Apps) ensures the best user experience on devices and a short time-to-market for OTT projects. Axinom Apps support all major application platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows, Smart TV and game consoles. The application configuration and the publishing process are managed by Axinom CMS allowing customers to manage all platforms from a single source at the same time and to extend the feature set of Axinom Apps using the API.

By enabling 360 degree stereoscopic live and on-demand video streaming on virtual reality devices such as Oculus Rift and Sony Morpheus Axinom Apps allow customers to create immersive and life-like consumer experiences for sport and music events. Close collaboration with a VR specialist Dexperio Group extends customer scenarios to custom built virtual reality devices.
